2026 BYOD iPad Program

Commencing in 2027, schools with primary students:

must not invite or allow families to purchase or bring their own student digital devices for primary students to use at school in Years F-6
are recommended to design teaching and learning programs consistent with the following student digital device usage times:

- Years F-2: Minimal use other than learning about and with digital technologies as set out in the Victorian Curriculum 2.0

- Years 3-6: Maximum of 90 minutes per day.

Due to this change in policy, and after consultation with families and school council, we will be discontinuing the Bring Your Own Device iPad program.

For 2026, Prep/Foundation students at Truganina South Primary School are not required to have their own ipads for school. Students will have shared access to school based devices when required to access teaching and learning programs. Therefore Prep/Foundation parents are not to purchase a device for use at school.

For existing families of students in Grades 1 to 6, we are transitioning to a shared school devices model in 2027. Students who currently have a device may continue to bring it to school in 2026, but there is no expectation to replace damaged or obsolete devices. The school will continue to provide access to a wide range of approved applications to support the teaching and learning program.

Apple iPad (7th Generation) or newer. Device is required to support iOS 13 or higher. Lo

These iPads are not recommended to be used as a school device, due to the fact that many apps now require iOS 11

iPad (1st to 4th Generation)
iPad Mini (1st & 2nd Generation)

Digital Learning Online Consent
